Seroxyn HFA 25/50 is a combination inhaler that helps open the airways and make breathing easier. It is used for:
Asthma (wheezing and shortness of breath)
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
It is not for sudden asthma attacks; a separate rescue inhaler should be used for emergencies. The medicine works best when used regularly, even if symptoms are absent. Maximum effect may take a few weeks.
Adults:
Pressurised inhaler: 2 inhalations twice daily (morning and evening)
Powder inhaler: 1 inhalation twice daily
Children (4–12 years):
Pressurised inhaler: 2 inhalations twice daily
Powder inhaler: 1 inhalation twice daily
Instructions for Use:
Shake the inhaler well.
Breathe out fully, place the mouthpiece in your mouth, and press to release the medicine while inhaling slowly.
Hold your breath for 10 seconds, then exhale.
Repeat if prescribed more than 1 puff.
Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water after use to prevent fungal infections.
Do not swallow the medicine; it is for inhalation only.
Do not use for acute asthma attacks
Caution in pulmonary TB, heart disorders, arrhythmias, diabetes, thyrotoxicosis, hypokalemia
Patients at risk of low bone density should be monitored
Do not stop therapy abruptly; dose should be reduced gradually under medical guidance
Check safety if pregnant or breastfeeding
Take at the same time each day
Maintain proper inhaler technique for effectiveness
Avoid smoking and triggers that worsen asthma

Upper respiratory tract infections (21–27%)
Headache (12–21%)
Pharyngitis (10–13%)
Less common (1–10%):
Oral candidiasis (1–4%)

Musculoskeletal pain, fever, malaise, muscle cramps
Rare but serious:
Paradoxical bronchospasm
Rinse mouth after inhalation to reduce the risk of fungal infections.
CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir) may increase fluticasone levels
Additive effects with other beta-agonists
Pressurised canister, do not puncture, break or incinerate even when apparently empty. Avoid storage in direct sunlight or heat. Store below 30°C. Keep away from eyes. Keep away from children.
